EXPERT CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

We have invited an internationally-acclaimed choreographer, Del Mak, to run workshops for the camp’s participants.

These workshops aim to show how the use of simple tools can provide much more artistic depth and visual entertainment to your rope skipping routines. They will help you to create stunning, awe-inspiring performances at shows and competitions.

Del draws experience from his illustrious performance career which has included working with renowned artists such as Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Lady GaGa, Leona Lewis, Jessie J, One Direction, Alexandra Burke and Pet Shop Boys.

CAMP SCHEDULE

 

We have worked hard to put together a schedule that provides plenty of opportunities for you to learn new skills but at the same time also to have fun. On top of the daily training sessions you will also have the chance to participate in the optional evening activities, plus we’re organising a disco for the final night.

Participants will be arriving throughout the day and will need to check in upon arrival. Those that have already arrived have free time up until the welcome event in the evening, giving you an opportunity to settle in, unpack and look around the campus.

Obstacle Course (Optional)

Participants will be split into teams and compete against each other on a number of obstacles (don't worry, you don't need any special skills). The aim is to have fun and to get to know others, with the added bonus of trying to beat the other teams in a friendly competition.

Trampoline Park / Scavenger Hunt (Optional)

Participants will be split into two groups. Group A will go to the Trampoline Park, and Group B will enjoy a Scavenger Hunt on campus. In the Trampoline Park you will have the chance to try out different areas like running up against a wall or going on a runway trampoline with a giant airbag at the end. In the Scavenger Hunt you will form a team with others and search for objects and try to be the first one to find them all.

The Final Showdown

At the end of the camp participants will be invited to join 'The Final Showdown'. An event where they will compete against each other in teams. It is an informal competition, no previous preparation is needed as it won't include traditional skipping competition events.

Departures

GORGEOUS LOCATION

 

The camp will take place at the University of Essex Campus in Colchester, United Kingdom. The university has just completed a brand new sports hall which will be the venue for the training sessions. All participants will have their own en-suite single bedroom and for your meals, you will have the option to choose from 3 different places to eat each serving food from a different cuisine. Everything is located on campus, just a few minutes away from each other.
